Red Bull Box Cart Race

For the second time, USN has helped Red Bull execute its Red Bull Box Cart Race. The 2nd Red Bull Box Cart Race was held at Kasairinkai Park. The event is a national race for amateur drivers, which is fueled by creativity and competitive fun and gravity... the drivers are not allowed to use engines, pedals or other ways of pushing the cart after it leaves the start line. Out of the 337 applicants 56 teams were chosen to compete on the day.

USN created all event materials, entry booklets, course signage, flyers and special announcement activities. USN also created one of Japan’s first iAds for iPhone devices to announce the event in 2011.

The event had 20,000 people attend despite rain and bad weather, and all racing teams managed to put on great performances. We had a variety of outstanding carts starting from sumo wrestler carts to ninja origami carts.

第2回 RED BULL BOX CART RACE。今年もやってきたこの一大イベント。雨の中、約2万人が笑顔になりました。

葛西臨海公園に設けられた特設会場には、子供連れの家族をはじめ、多くの観客が詰めかけました。お相撲さんがツッパリをしながら走る、走行中に家が飛び出す、カートで地元名産品をアピールするなど、アイディアあふれる個性的なカートと、スタート前のユニークなパフォーマンスは、多くの人たちの歓声と笑いを誘いました。

今回、応募総数337件の中から選ばれた56チームで、カートの独創性と完成度、ステージでのパフォーマンス、そしてレースタイム、全ての審査項目において高い評価を獲得し、見事優勝したのは兵庫県から来た「チーム『最速忍者牛』」でした。遊び心を持って大人がモノづくりに取り組み、大勢で楽しく参加できるレッドブル・ボックスカートレースは、参加する人、応援する人、それぞれが笑顔になれるお祭りです。
